Resolutions for a Sustainable 2021

As we look towards the New Year, the sustainability team has pulled together several goals to minimize their environmental impact. Here some impactful resolutions that anyone can make for 2021.

  • Say No to Single-Use, Yes to Reusable! Ditch the single-use water bottle, straw, or anything and make an effort to utilize the many fantastic reusable options out there. Some of our favorites include—Hydroflask for Water Bottles, Stasher for reusable bags, and Package Free Shop for dining ware!
  • Choose Wisely! Whether it’s at a restaurant or a grocery store, stop adding things to your cart or order that aren’t needed. A little can go a long way when it comes to reducing food waste. Utilize a Meal Planning Template to help create your weekly menu.
  • Purchase sustainably! Whether it be fair trade coffee or sustainable seafood. If possible, choose the sustainable option when shopping at the grocery store. Consult with your local fishmonger or butcher to gather more information. Learn more about sustainable seafood from Seafood Watch.
  • Go Local! Check out the Shop Small Map from American Express to find a local business near you or look for a minority-owned business to support using one of these apps.

Let’s make an effort to support mother earth in 2021! By following one of the steps above you can truly make change in not only your local community but our environment as a whole. The littlest step could make the biggest impact!
